GamePoint chooses Infradata to implement new load balancing solutions in the new datacenter

Leiden, 17 juli 2009 – GamePoint, initiator of www.spelpunt.nl, has chosen cooperation with Infradata to implement the routing infrastructure in their new datacenter in Amsterdam. The new datacenter has been equipped with several Brocade (before Foundry) ServerIron load balancers.

Worldwide hundreds of millions of people play online games regularly. A lot of dutch companies have a leading role in this online game market. GamePoint, also situated in Den Haag is the biggest online game community in Holland. Unique about spelpunt.nl is that all games can be played with and against each other and therefore a close community has arisen. Monthly more than 350.000 unique visitors visit the website and play 120 minutes in average per session. GamePoint is growing rapidly at the moment and has started an equivalent of the dutch website in Belgium and Germany. Soon Norway and Sweden will get introduced with GamePoint’s popular website.

It is very important for online gaming that a site is always accessible and offers an optimal performance to visitors. GamePoint uses the new load balancers to make sure the website offers the best performance for every visitor.
